Sports Club Projects
After completion of the project, the Sports Club now has a purpose-built Clubhouse - costing almost half-a-million pounds - with provision for social as well as sporting facilities, including a Function Room with Bar, Kitchen and Servery, something the old pavilion always lacked and especially important since the demise of the Community Lounge at the local school, due to Local Education Authority cost-saving cutbacks some years ago.
The social aspect was always important to the success of the Sports Club project and already local community organisations and residents are making good use of the facilities on offer, especially with the ample car parking available on site - something of a rarity in Market Bosworth!
Naturally, the cost of running and maintaining the Clubhouse and Ground is a significant challenge - including a currently ongoing project in conjunction with Leicester City Football Club spread over several years.
Provision of solar panels to offset electricity costs is under consideration for sustainable energy use by the Sports Club - in addition to enhancements to onsite storage and leisure facilities.
Likewise this picture of where the old pavilion once stood at the Wellsborough Road sports ground could one day become the realisation of another dream for the Sports Club - providing the necessary ground space for further sporting or recreational facilities for everyday use, e.g. an all-weather floodlit multi-sports facility or perhaps a Skateboard or BMX track.

Following the success of several major funding applications, the Sports Club was delighted to announce that September 2015 marked the start of their biggest ever project - to provide a new Community Clubhouse, including changing rooms for four teams plus a function room and culinary facilities for use by social, leisure and sporting activities.
The new Clubhouse - so much better!
